Grant Writing Intern
Responsibilities of this position include:
Work closely with Lalafofofo Executive Director (supervisor) to submit applications.
Help identify potential funders for Lalafofofo, including foundations, institutional partners and organization funders.
Contribute to Lalafofofo database of potential grants, including timeline and requirements of grants.
Select 5 grants and draft a complete application for each, including a proposal for funding the Vocational Training Institute for Lalafofofo’s Girls Scholarship Program.
Attend monthly meetings with other Lalafofofo interns and employees, take specific note of the Girls Scholarship Program and Women’s Employment Initiative.
Other related activities as mutually agreed upon.
Requirements:
Current college student.
Access to reliable internet and laptop/computer.
Excellent oral and written communication skills (in English).
Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel required.
Ability to work both in a team and independently.
Commitment to women’s empowerment.
Familiarity with Tanzania and/or the Maasai is a plus.
Terms of Engagement:
Time of position is for the Summer 2021 (June 1st – August 13th, 2021).
10 hours / week; timing flexible, work remotely.
