Lalafofofo Internships
Volunteers and interns are an important part of Lalafofofo-Amka Sasa’s work. We believe it is important to include the next generation of international leaders in our movement to ensure human rights for all by offering various internships for high school and undergraduate students.
Whether you are managing our social media, researching child marriage, writing newsletters or coordinating on-the-ground projects in Tanzania, every intern will learn about Tanzanian culture and politics and gain skills in cultural comptency, teamwork and professionalism.
We are currently not accepting applications for Fall 2022, please check back in December for Spring 2023 internship opportunities.
Past Intern Testimonials
Working at Lalafofofo-Amka Sasa not only helped me discover my passion for environmental justice, but allowed me the opportunity to form potentially lifelong friendships with a variety of people from all over the country. I have loved working here with all my heart. Asante sana, Lalafofofo.
-Lucy Grant (Spring/Summer '21 Intern)
My experience working with Lalafofofo-Amka Sasa was innumerably beneficial to my view of the greater world, my perception of the non-profit sector, and my belief that there are people in every country in the world that are willing to devote their time to affecting genuine, people-driven change. Lalafofofo-Amka Sasa demonstrates a clear mission and grass-roots ideals that will forever be a part of my comparative viewpoint to all other non-profit organizations and the grander world of foreign aid.
-Chris Bumpus (Spring/Summer ‘21 Intern)
I loved this internship! It was a good way to improve my research skills and actually make a difference. I especially liked the small-scale of Lalafofofo-Amka Sasa, which enabled me to forge closer personal relationships with my supervisor and other interns.
